Elogio della mano
sculpture
plaster cast on a concrete base
113 x 38 x 25 cm (with base)
2020
The work constituted a return to classical sculpture forms. The sculpture, created over the course of 7 months, is a record of a meditative process of using a manual dexterity as a means of reflection on the beauty contained in nature and physicality, shown in the tension of a block enclosed in a body costume. The work is also a dialogue with the oldest sculptural tradition - depicting a nude in the contrapposto pose.
